CMP Commiserates with Vanguard Newspapers over Reporter’s Demise
The Coalition For Media Politics, CMP, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, has condoled with the management and staff of Vanguard Newspapers, over the mysterious disappearance and murder of their reporter, Mr Tordue Henry Salem, in Abuja.
It was reported that the late Salem who was covering the House of Representatives, was last seen on October 13, 2021, after the close of work that day.
The group in a condolence message by Publicity Secretary, Hon Malcolm Tagbarha, described the sudden disappearance and death of Tordue as shocking, barbaric and wicked.
CMP urged the Federal Government to explore every process permissible within the laws of Nigeria, to apprehend those behind the untimely death of the journalist.
“We lament the persistent insecurity in the nation and urged all the citizens of Nigeria to be at alert and assist security agencies in their efforts to secure the country under the incompetent APC national government led by President Mohammadu Buhari.
“CMP urges Nigerians to continue to pray for the safety and freedom of all compatriots languishing in their abductors den.
“We blame the failed government of President Buhari for inability to secure Nigeria, after billions of dollars have been spent on the procurement of arms and ammunitions, security gadgets and other equipment needed to secure our country.
“The federal government must wake up to her constitutional responsibility of securing lives and property, rise up to the occasion and introduce more effective strategies of securing our nation. Enough is enough,” CMP added.
