BCS holds Annual Public Lecture Dec. 22

 

The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star on Tuesday said all is set to hold it’s ‘Olumba Olumba Obu Annual Public Lecture’ billed for Tuesday 22 December, 2020.

BCS said this in Asaba at a Press Conference which was held both physically and virtually through zoom and other social platforms.

Patriarch Christ Shepherd Ogar Osim, BCS Deputy Spokesman and Coordinator, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu Public Lecture, stated that the theme of this year’s Public Lecture is “Reflecting on the Unique Legacy in Africa”

His Holiness Archbishop Steven Ideji who read the statement on behalf of Osim, added that the Annual Public Lecture is designed as part of events marking the yearly celebration of the Divine Manifestation of their Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, which holds every December at the world Headquarters of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star in Calabar, Cross River.

He stressed that the Public Lecture is aimed at promoting peace, prosperity, stability adding that the salvation man lies on the core values of basic principles expoused by their leader, Obu.

According to Osim, their leader said Africa is the richest continent of the world and that it’s economic and spiritual significance cannot be disputed by the Western theology, mysticism and Eastern Spiritual Matters.

He said, “this was the time for the restoration of the lost glory of the black race”, adding that those whom God has graciously kept in position of leadership in Africa must realise this and rekindle their effort towards making Africa great.

“Africans must know that the Holy Spirit has manifested in Africa and God is living in Africa. There is no race that expresses love and faith in God as the Africans,” he stated.

Osim noted that the spiritual leader of BCS was approached by the white men in the 70s to relocate to the United States but refused to go with them, adding that their Spiritual leader refused the offer because “The abundance of Natural Resources in Africa points to the blessings and unique love God has for Africa.

He added that theGuest Lecturera at this year’s
Public Lecture is Professor Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba of Kenya.

Some of the dignitaries expected at the public lecture, according to the statement, include but not not limited to Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, the former Majority Leader of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Owan Enoch, Prince Jeddy Goddy Agba.

Others are Minister of State Power, the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prof Ben Ayade, the former Governor of Cross River, Dr Donald Duke adding that other political leaders, Royal Fathers, media practitioners and celebrities will also be at the public Lecture.

He said the event billed for Tuesday 22 December at the Calabar Cultural Centre, Cross River, will bring hundreds of personalities from all over the world, while more than 10 thousand participants across the world will join through zoom and other media platform.

On the EndSARS issue, the Delta State BCS Administrator, His Grace, Archbishop Eddy Osisike, says the BCS had always maintain their position that they were always against violence, calling on the youths to be law abiding.
