NFF ELECTION: AMAJU EMERGES WINNER

THE Delta State Sports Commission Chairman, Mr. Amaju Pinnick has emerged as President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.

Mr. Pinnick emerged winner of the election after a rigorous election that saw him winning the simple majority of 32 votes to beat his closest rival, Mr. Iofa Mtem Dominic, who had 8 votes.

He won the initial round of election with a resounding 25 votes out of the 44 votes casted.

The NFF Electoral Committee headed by Mr. Samson Ebonhe declared Mr. Pinnick the President of NFF.

The General Assemly also elected Mr. Seyi Akinwunmi (Lagos State) as 1st Vice President, while Mr. Ibrahim Musa Gusau (Zamfara State) was elected unopposed as Chairman of Chairmen.

Others are; Christopher Tam-Abinye Green (Rivers State), was elected from South South zones, Hon. Suleiman Yahaha-Kwande (Plateua State) and Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf Fresh (Niger State) were elected from the North Central Zone, Sunday Dele Ajayi (Ondo State) was elected from South West Zone.

Sharif Rabiu Inuwa (Kano State) was elected unopposed from the North West Zone, Husseini Madibo (Taraba State) and Babagana Kalli (Borno State) were elected from the North East Zone.

Alhaji Aminu Maigari, the immediate past President was made Honourary Life President by the new NFF Executive Committee for his wonderful work in NFF during his tenure.

In his acceptance speech Mr. Amaju Pinnick promised that his board will not take decisions alone but that they will involve all football stakeholders in their decision making.

He appealed to all those who contested with him to throw away their differences and work together as one indivisable board and move the NFF to greater hieght.

Pinnick said that his executive was going to work as a team and reposition footbal in the country, adding that at the end of the day everyone would appreciate their contributions.

He added that everybody was a winner in the contest and that there was no victor no vanguish.
