The seven communities that make up Agbarha in Warri South Constituency II of Delta State have endorsed Hon. Patrick Oghonemu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as their preferred candidate for the 2027 Delta State House of Assembly election.
The endorsement was announced during a gathering of community leaders, youth presidents, women leaders and elders from the seven communities, namely Edjeba, Igbudu, Ekerode, Ogunu, Agbasa, Otogile and Okpokite.
The community leaders, according to a statement issued on the occasion, declared their support for Oghonemu, describing him as their son and pledging to mobilise support for his candidacy across the communities.
Receiving the endorsement, Oghonemu expressed appreciation to the people of Agbarha and pledged to pursue what he described as people-focused representation if elected into the State House of Assembly.
He said his agenda would focus on security, community development and accountability, particularly in areas affecting residents and businesses within the constituency.
“Today is not just about me. It is about Agbarha. It is about Warri South Constituency II,” Oghonemu said, adding that he understood the needs and challenges confronting the people of the area.
According to him, his legislative agenda would include advocating improved security for markets and communities, development of roads and drainage infrastructure, youth empowerment and greater accountability in government.
Oghonemu said his candidacy under the ADC would be anchored on what he described as people-focused leadership, development and accountability.
The community leaders were also quoted as describing the ADC candidate as a man of experience, integrity and commitment to service.
They reportedly pledged to mobilise votes for the ADC across the seven Agbarha communities during the 2027 election.
Oghonemu further called for unity among the people of Agbarha, saying that a united constituency would be better positioned to demand effective representation and development.
The endorsement comes ahead of the 2027 general elections, as political parties and aspirants in Delta State intensify their mobilisation and preparations for the polls.
