Gbaramatu Kingdom Commends NASS For Passing Confidence Vote On TANTITA

Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State has commended the National Assembly (NASS)for passing a vote of confidence on TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited over it’s role of securing oil and gas facilities in the Niger Delta region.
This commendation was given by HRM Oboro Gbaraun 11 JP Aketekpe Agadagba, Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom at the grand finale of the 2026 edition of Gbaraun Egbesu Ibolomobo & Amaseikumor festival in Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom, he said that a lot of people who had benefited from the Tantita Surveillance Contract were undoing the company.
HRM Oboro Gbaraun 11 JP who spoke through High Chief Godspower Gbenekama, Fiowei (Spokesman) of Gbaramatu Kingdom said that, “there are a lot of people who have benefitted from Tantita but seek to “undo” the private security firm for their own greed and wickedness.”
The royal father, however, lauded the media for its adequate, balanced and objective reportage of the activities of the private security surveillance firm and Gbaramatu Kingdom towards ensuring that they succeed.
According to HRM Oboro Gbaraun 11 JP, “we want to express our appreciation to all the media houses, they were fair, objective and gave balanced reportage of situations on ground. Pls, keep on doing the good works”.
Speaking on behalf of the National Assembly (NASS), Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, Member, representing Owan Federal Constituency, Edo State in the House of Representatives said that Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) has done very well for adequately securing the nation’s oil and gas assets.
Prof. Ihonvbere, Majority Leader in the 10th National Assembly said that Tantita had been able to raise the nation’s daily crude oil production to an appreciable level.
It could be recalled that Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, a private security outfit, owned by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, was engaged in 2022 by the federal government to safeguard the nation’s oil and gas assets.
According to Prof. Ihonvbere, prior to the engagement of Tantita, the nation’s crude oil production level was at a very low ebb, adding, “the National Assembly commends Tantita for its protection against crude oil theft. Prior to the emergence of the Tantita, crude oil output was at a low level.
“But with the coming on board of Tantita, the nation’s daily crude oil output has risen tremendously.”
Prof. Ihonvbere lauded High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo for his unique role in ensuring the success of the Amaseikumor festival.
He also also thanked the people of Gbaramatu kingdom for using the festival to showcase and promote culture and tourism.
Prof. Ihonvbere spoke further, “I am glad to be at Oporoza in Gbaramatu kingdom to celebrate with the people. The festival highlights the peace and unity of the people.
“It is a festival that brings people together. I am glad to see the joy on the faces of large people that turned out here. It is an eloquent testimony of what people can do when they are united, when prosperity is being spread around the people.
“It is also a testimony travelling long distance, seeing the beauty of the waterways, the security despite all the kinds of bad image stories and news about Nigeria.”
Prof. Ihonvbere said that the festival fosters unity in diversity and urged the people to sustain it.
The weeklong event which commenced on Monday, April 6, 2026 featured several activities including free medical services to the people.
Highlights of the event was the cultural dance by the various communities that made up Gbaramatu kingdom as well as presentation of merit award to Tantita by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council.
In attendance were Sir Monday Onyeme, Deputy Governor of Delta Delta, Sen. Joel-Thomas Onowakpor, Senator representing Delta South, Rt. Hon. Thomas Ereyitomi, Member, representing Warri Federal Constituency, Hon. Donald Ojogor, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly and some members of the Assembly, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, Coordinator, Presidential Amnesty Programme and Dr Paul Bebenimibo, Registrar, Nigeria Maritime University and some other dignitaries.
Others were: the Ovie of Idjere Kingdom, King Monday Whisky, Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, Dr Emmanuel Sideso Abe 1 and other royal fathers across the Southern region of Nigeria.
