By Francis Sadhere, Warri

Dr. Michael Tidi, immediate past Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, has extended his congratulations to Nentawe Yilwatda on his emergence as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, as well as Surajudeen Basiru, who emerged as National Secretary, following the party’s successful 4th Elective National Convention held at Eagle Square.

In a statement, Tidi described their emergence through a consensus-driven process as a reflection of unity and internal cohesion within the party, noting that it also underscores a shared commitment to purposeful leadership and continuity.

He expressed optimism that the new leadership would strengthen the party’s institutional framework and advance its strategic goals.

The former council chairman said the convention, themed “Unity in Progress: Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda,” demonstrated the party’s collective resolve to deepen progress and sustain its vision for national development.

Tidi also commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he termed exemplary leadership and statesmanship in ensuring a peaceful and well-coordinated convention.

According to him, the President’s ability to foster unity and consensus continues to boost confidence in the party’s direction.

He further noted that the presence of key national figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, highlighted the significance of the event and the strength of the party’s leadership structure.

Tidi equally praised the convention planning committee, co-chaired by Aminu Masari and Anyim Pius Anyim, for their diligence in delivering a seamless and credible exercise.

He added that the successful convention reflects the maturity of the party’s internal democratic processes and its readiness to consolidate on its achievements for the benefit of Nigerians.
