DESOPADEC Mourns Clark

Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) has commiserated with the Clark-Fuludu Family of Kiagbodo over the demise of Senator Edwin Kiagbodo Clark who passed on at the age of 97 years.
According to a statement signed by Chief Festus Ochonogor, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), late Chief Clark was a towering figure and a steadfast advocate for the overall development of the Nigeria Delta region.
Chief Ochonogor said, “it is with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss that I, on behalf of the Management and Staff of the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC)mourn the passing of Chief Edwin Clark, a towering figure and a steadfast advocate for the Niger Delta region.”
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of DESOPADEC added, “his contributions to the advancement of the Niger Delta region, especially Delta State, will forever be etched in history with his unwavering commitment to the region’s development, particularly in advocating for the recognition of its oil and gas resources and the welfare of its people.
“Through his tireless efforts, the Niger Delta region witnessed monumental strides in infrastructure, education, and social reforms that continue to impact generations.”
He said that Chief Clark’s voice and actions, whether in policy-making or grassroots mobilization, were always aimed at achieving a more prosperous and fair Niger Delta, adding that Delta State was particularly fortunate to have benefited from his vision, as he (Chief Clark )consistently worked towards ensuring that the oil-producing communities received a fair share of the resources derived from their lands.
Chief Ochonogor spoke further, “Chief Clark left behind an indelible legacy of courage, service, and dedication to the people of the Niger Delta thereby paving the way for future leaders to continue his work in ensuring the prosperity and peace of our people.
“May his soul rest in peace, and may his vision for a just and developed Niger Delta live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his remarkable life.”
