Nigerian youths have been called upon to exercise restraint with the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

This call was made by Archbishop Philip Orovwuje, Presiding Bishop, Garden Of Life Assembly(GOLA), Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State while reacting to the on going nationwide #endbadgovernance protest by Nigerian youths.

The cleric who is also a strong member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Delta said that, though the protest was due but not timely.

Archbishop Orovwuje noted that the country had not been able to recovered from the 2020 #ENDSARS Protest that ravaged parts of the country, he urged the prospective protesters not to add more unrest to the volatile situation now on ground..

Accordng to Archbishop Orovwuje, “I admonish our youths to give peace a chance and shelve the protest because we have not been able to recover from the ENDSARS protest.

“We should give this government a chance. The country has been bastardised long ago. The cloth that is badly torn, takes an experience tailor to mend it.

“The fuel subsidy was removed so that there will be more money to run the the government. The state governors now receive huge allocations.

“Of course, a hungry man is an angry man, but we should give this government time to put the country in order,” the Cleric said.

The Cleric alleged that the protest was politically motivated, saying that there is no smoke without fire.

On the home front, the Archbishop called on APC members in Delta State to remain united, avoid greed, self centredness and unnecessary acrimony.

Archbishop Orovwuje noted that the party would have won the 2023 Governorship election in the state if there was good coordination in the party.

He spoke further, “things are falling apart and the centre can no longer hold in the APC in Delta State. Those at the top seems not united, we the followers are the ones suffering it. Appointments are coming to the state and we do not know those who are recommending the non core members of the party.

“There should be cohesion and let us put the past behind us. If you want to win a war, you can use your enemy to achieve it, after the war, you call for reconciliation.

“Greed, pride, unnecessary acrimony and self-centeredness are the reasons why we lost the election. If you think that the deaf and dumb man is not useful, leave your belongings to him to cater for.” he said.

The Archbishop noted that nobody was useless in politics and urged members to be steadfast and beware of traitors who may come from other political parties to destroy the APC, adding, “no matter how kind you are, beware of the person who killed your father because the same way he will kill you.”
