WORK IN UNITY, MONARCH TELLS SUBJECTS

The Onojie of Ewu in Esanland Edo State, HRH Razak Ojeifo III has expressed the need for a more cohesive relationship between all sons and daughters of the kingdom stating that it is the only way to ensure a sustainable development in the land.

The monarch also lamented the level of devastation caused by gully erosion in the community, just as he said that concerted efforts be made to tackle the menace of gully erosion ravaging Ewu kingdom.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Ewu Progressive Union (EPU) in Warri, the royal monarch said his decision to visit Warri was informed by the quality contributions of EPU to the development of Ewu land.

He said if all sons and daughters of Ewu across NIgeria can come together as a body and make the economic and social development of Ewuland their focal point, a giant stride would be made in the quest to develop a modern and progressive community to the envy of others in the state and beyond.

while applauding the contributions of EPU to the Ewu community in the area of education and palace development, he enjoined them not to relent on their oars as every step taken foist more responsibility on them as the union has positioned itself to lead the crusade for the growth of the community.

In his words, ” I thank the EPU for all you contributions to the development of Ewu kingdom. You have displayed a high sense of responsibility to your community, the chairs you brought to the Palace and the sign post you supplied to all primary and secondary schools in Ewu are there as evidence of your good work. let me assure you that nothing you did will go unnoticed, just the way you have set the pace, we will all put our hands together to ensure that all Ewu indigenes across the country are organized and put under one umbrella for growth and development”.

On the gully erosion that has cut of parts of the community from the others, he said he has spoken to some top Government officials to handle the problem of erosion in Ewu with more seriousness as it was capable of wiping out a major part of the kingdom if urgent steps were not taken to halt the progression.

He however appealed to all political office holders representing the constituency in both the state and national level to join hands in drawing government attention to the problem.

The chairman of  EPU, John Oahinmin, expressed gratitude to the traditional ruler for taking out time to visit his subjects in Warri in spite of his tight schedule, adding that his visit will further stimulate the people to do more for the kingdom.
