Ode-Itsekiri Agog As New Olu Of Warri Sets To Be Coronated Tomorrow

Ode-Itsekiri, the ancestral home of Itsekiri nation is agog with activities as the Itsekiri nation is set to crown their new monarch, His Highness, Prince Godfrey Ikenwoli Emiko as the 20th Olu of Warri tomorrow at Ode Itsekiri, the ancestral home of the Itsekiri people.
Our Correspondent reports that Ode-Itsekiri (Big Warri), the ancestral home of the Itsekiri people as well as Warri is now wearing a new look ahead of the Coronation tomorrow.
Some prominent Itsekiris who spoke to our correspondent on their expectations from the new monarch all said that their expectations are high and that they believed that the new monarch is going to take the Itsekiri nation to greater heights.
Speaking to our correspondent in Warri, a member of the publicity committee for the coronation, Mr. Alex Eyengho said that the new monarch is going to be a true father to everybody and not any particular person or group of persons.
Also speaking, Dr. Evelyn Omawumi Urhobo said there is definitely high expectation from the new Olu of Warri.
She added: “There has not been a greater level of unity amongst the Itsekiri people than since the announcement of his selection as the 20th Olu of Warri Kingdom. He is a man of the people who has experienced the challenges of his people and therefore empathize with them. There is no doubt that the Itsekiri people are poised to experiment giant strides in development of Warri Kingdom with peace and prosperity, during the period of his reign. I wish him God’s guidance and protection as his ascends the throne of his forefathers on Saturday 12th Dec, 2015.”
The National Coordinator of Stabilizing Factor, Mr. Victor Agbateyiniro also said that his expectations are not different from the one that the entire Itsekiris or any other person expects from his monarch.
“God willing, we expect to enjoy great peace and harmony, renewed development master plan for the Kingdom and where justice shall reign supreme. The new monarch is a home grown personality, that is conversant with the happenings in and around his Kingdom. Long may he reign in Christ Jesus, he added.
Also a former Commissioner in the State Barrister Bolatsi Dudu, said that his expectation from the new Olu of Warri is better leadership.
Ode-Itsekiri is expected to play host to a sea of imminent personalities today from all walks of life.
