The monarch of Ohazulunye, Obi of Ichida, HRM (Sir) Charles N. Ezeudogu I, has reiterated the need for all the ethnic groups in Delta, especially Warri, to work together in peace and harmony saying that peace is the panacea for development.
HRM Ezeudogu, popularly called “Charlisco” in Warri, spoke in Warri when he visited to the Chief Executive Officer of Lightworld and Industries Limited, Ambassador Anthony Ejiofor.
The Monarch said that as somebody who grew up in Warri and have almost all his businesses in Warri, he knows the important of peace in any community.
Narrating how all the ethnic groups in Warri supported him during the Warri crisis, the monarch said his business was growing in spite of the Warri crisis because of the love the people of Warri showered on him.
He said, “I want to enjoin all the ethnic groups in Warri to come together as one because that is the only way the place can develop.
“I can remember in 1997 during Warri crisis. In spite of the the crisis my businesses were still growing because of the love the people have for me. My cargo ships were still allowed to anchor in Warri Ports.
“How was this possible? This was possible because all the people know that I always preach peace wherever I go. So even during the Warri crisis both ethnic groups did not attack my businesses.”
Responding, Ambassador Ejiofor said he was very honoured to play host to one of Africa’s finest businessman and monarch, adding that monarch has always been his role model who looked up to in the business industry.
“Whatever we are today was because of His Majesty, because we saw his philanthropic gestures during his days. So whatever we are doing today is because we learnt from a great man, Ejiofor said.
Ejiofor, who is also the Convener of Concerned Citizens Nigeria Forum, said his business empire has grown to what it is today because he developed himself educationally.
He advised Nigerians to study Business Management because according to him, it is a course that will allow people to manage not only their businesses but also their lives.
