I am still alive and kicking, says Tony Grey
By Francis Sadhere
One of Warri’s best musicians who started his career in early 70s and kept night life alive in the rich oil city of Warri, and who was rumoured to be dead, Mr. Tony Grey has said he is still alive and kicking, just as he appealed to Nigerians to come to his aid and help him get back on his feet.
Tony Grey who is suffering from prostrated cancer and diabetes and nearly lost his life to the illnesses, is still alive lying in his sick bed contrary to rumours that filtered into town that he was dead.
Our correspondent who visited the sick music maestro recently reports that the ‘Ozimba of Africa’ is still very much alive and is responding to treatment.
Tony Grey who appealed for assistance from his fans and other well meaning Nigerians said he needs every help that Nigerians could offer him adding that he has been bedridden for some time now and had to come out to call on Nigerians to assist him.
He said his family who has stood by him right from the beginning has done all they can to make sure that they gave him the best medical care one could think of, appealing to Nigerians not to leave the burden of his treatment to his family alone.
He said, “I am alive and still kicking. I just want to greet all Deltans and Nigerians. I want to appeal to them to come to my aide so that I can get up on my feet again. I am still alive. Peace and love to everyone. I wish all my fans all over the world a happy 2017.
“We should all pray for more progress in Jesus name. Nigerians, please I need your assistance to get off my feet in this very predicament. May God bless you all.”
