Governor Ifeanyi Okowa Campaign Organisation on Monday received a boost as the Itsekiri National Youth Congress (INYC) endorsed him for a second term in office.

The National President and Secretary of the group, Comrade Esimaje Awani and Comrade Humphrey Tuoyo respectively, told newsmen in Warri that the reason why they were endorsing Governor Okowa was to consolidate on the growth that Okowa has made so far.

Comrade Awani said governor Okowa deserved a second term for his developmental strides in the areas of youth empowerment, infrastructural development, job creation, health and all other aspect of the economy.

He said, “Been ever watchful of events and trends for the past three and half years, I have seen a massive investment in our micro economy by the training and establishing of over 20,000 persons in their choice enterprises.

“I have read of the 100,000 private sector jobs created through programs and activities of MDAs. I have seen a road rehabilitation revolution that has given the state’s dilapidated road structure a facelift.

“I have also seen a wave of classroom renovations to create a better learning environment for the children. I was also made aware of the Universal Health Coverage Scheme that has almost 500,000 persons enrolled in it.”

The youth group said with the current achievements of the Governor Okowa administration, it would be a tragedy and an injustice to the people of the state not to consolidate on the progress made so far.

“On this note, we the executive and members of INYC, we hereby endorse the revalidation of Governor Okowa’s mandate as the best choice amongst every other candidate vying for the governorship position,” INYC said.

The Itsekiri youth group further urged Deltans who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) to do so and cast their votes for Governor Okowa in the March 2 election.

Comrade Esimaje also commended all political parties in the state for their proper conduct during the campaigns, adding, “there were no cases of violence or accidents in the weeks when these rallys were held and I pray that it’s an atmosphere that would be taken to the polls on election days.”
