2019 elections – Nigeria will be doomed if Buhari wins – Otumara
By Francis Sadhere, Warri
A Chsieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Dr Joseph Otumara on Friday said the country will be doomed if President Muhammadu Buhari wins the February 16 general elections.
Dr Otumara said this during a campaign rally of the PDP held at Bowen and Okere wards, both in Warri South Council Area of the state.
Otumara, who spoke at the PDP campaign rallies in Warri South witnessed by a large crowd who turned to support the party, said President Buhari was no longer fit to continue in office considering the blunders he has been making recently in APC rallies across the state.
He said, “Our President was here (Delta) yesterday and if you follow what has been happening around him recently, you will see that we are in for trouble in this country. The President has promised a lot things which he cannot do.
“You need energy to work as the president of this country. You need intellectual coordination at a president. But so far, we have not seen any of these features in the President.
“As it is now, the government of APC is characterised by ethnic hegemony. It was not so when our brother from the South South was there. All the positions were spread among all the ethnic groups in Nigeria.”
Dr Otumara also alleged that Buhari’s government was characterise by mediocre who are placed in positions, maintaining that PDP was going to kick APC out of Aso Rock come February 16.
He urged the PDP members in Warri South to go and collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), stressing that their PVC is their power to kick out the ruling APC.
He said Governor Okowa has tarred more than one thousand kilometers of road since his administration came into power three and half years ago, adding that Deltans should not vote for a man who does not care about them.
Speaking to our correspondent on the sideline, the Warri South Council Chairman, Dr Michael Tidi said the crowd witness at both wards rally was a clear indication of the fact that the council area was dominated by members of the PDP and they will cast their votes one hundred percent for the PDP.
He said, “With the calibre people and the crowd you see here today it shows you that Warri South is a PDP area. We are going to vote for all the PDP candidates from the Presidency to Governorship downward.
“What you are seeing here today shows that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has done so much for the people of the council area and that is why they have come out today in their numbers to show support for the PDP.”
The Senator Representing Delta South Senatorial District and PDP candidate for Delta South Senatorial District, Senator James Manager who spoke at the rally, also urged all the people in council area to vote enmass for all the candidates of PDP both at the National and state levels.
The PDP House of Representatives candidate for Warri Constituency, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi and the PDP Delta House of Assembly candidate for Warri constituency 1, Chief Mathew Opuoru and others who spoke at both rallies, all appealed to the people to vote for PDP all the way.
