Uduaghan Vows to Ensure Sanity on Roads

THE Delta State Commissioner for Transport, Mr Vincent Uduaghan has reiterated the commitment of the State Government towards ensuring sanity on the roads, particularly during the ember months.
The Commissioner spoke while playing host to members of the Nigeria Lorry and Truck Drivers Association in his office in Asaba, the state capital.
Mr Uduaghan said that strict compliance to traffic signs on the roads was inevitable if sanity would be restored on the roads.
According to him the issue of non compliance to traffic signs by motorists among others which contributes to the cause of accident on the highway will be dealt by his ministry, thereby reducing accidents and casualties on the roads.
While noting that the State Government was fully committed to the plight of its citizens.
The Commissioner urged members of the Nigeria Lorry and Truck Drivers Association to support the Transport Ministry to be able to discharge its duty to the masses.
Mr Uduaghan called on various unions in the Transport Ministry to go about their duty with sincerity of purpose for the over all good of their union.
Responding on behalf of members of the Nigeria Lorry and Truck Drivers Association, the Chairman, Comrade Onoriode Obunike who disclosed that the visit was to congratulate Mr Vincent Uduaghan on his Appointment as Transport Commissioner, pointed out that the issue of Traffic sign compliance be taken seriously so as to to curb high rate of accident on the roads.
He maintained that the Association was poised towards reducing sharp practices, including extortion of money from their members.
Comrade Obunike together with members of the Nigeria Lorry and Truck Drivers Association, pledged their unalloyed support to the Governor Okowa’s administration.
