6 Suspected Cultists Arrested by Aviara Vigilante Group

The Aviara vigilante group has arrested 6 suspected cultist’s terrorising the peace of the Holy land.

images(25)Our correspondent gathered that, the residents of the community had earlier raised alarm over the alleged worsening security situation in the community citing different cases of armer robbery, rapping and other criminal vices.

According to the chairman Aviara vigilante group, Comr Ogbemudia Odibo, he stressed that one of the suspected cultist (Abiola) was apprehended while trying to break into one woman’s house.

He said “our troops arrested Abiola who we caught while attempting to break into the woman’s house while we were on our night surveillance.

“We arrested him while two member’s of his gang fled. When handed him over to the police (Oleh Divisional Police Headquarter), he confessed that he is a cultist and his group members include: Godstime, Goodluck, Godbless, Anthony, and Samuel Ogbor.

“He (Abiola) also threatened to kill me whenever he is being released from the police custody. The rest of his gangs are seriously threatening that they will make the community ungovernable for us, that is why the police are still holding them captive”.

The Public Relation Officer of Aviara vigilante group, Comr Othuke Ogu who spoke with our Correspondent said that the suspected hoodlums arrested have caused great menace to residents of the community.

In his words: “Abiola and his group have been terrorising the community for a long time now. There has been so many raped cases and other criminality vices recorded against these boys we have arrested.

“We recovered plasma television set, foam, phones and other electronic from them which they stole from their victims. We also found weeds, a dagger and a gun in Samuel Ogbor’s room.”

Contacted the President General of Aviara community, Mr Fredick Ogbe, confirmed the arrest, saying that “the boys arrested are cultis and they have been terrorising the community. We have given the vigilante order to hunt and arrest all those involve in the act of perpetrating crime in the community until it reach it’s barest minimum”.

On his part, the Oleh Division Police Officer, Mohammed Mazu, said the boys are in police custody and are undergoing interrogation for further actions.

Meanwhile some of the arrested boys mothers have accused the vigilante group for allegedly arresting their sons,  saying that “their sons are innocent of the crime they are accusing them of.”
