I AM THE ENDORSED CANDIDATE OF UPU, SAYS EMERHOR …OGBORU/OMENE WORKING FOR PDP
By Francis Sadhere
All ProgressivesCongress (APC) governorship candidate in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor is optimistic that he will win the elections in the state haven been endorsed by the authentic Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) led by the President-General, Chief Tuesday Onoge.
Emerhor in an interview with our correspondent in Ozoro yesterday further asserted that the former UPU President, Chief Joe Omene’s alleged endorsement of Chief Great Ogboru is a calculated attempt to mislead the good people of Delta Central in particular and Urhobo Nation in general.
The APC candidate alleged that Great Ogboru of the Labour Party and Chief Joe Omene are working together politically for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a result of the deal the former leadership of the UPU struck with President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.
Emerhor who is a member of the Order of the Niger (OON) further asserted that Ogboru ‘s alliance with the UPU and Omene is a well crafted political strategy to divide the Urhobo votes so as to enable Dr Ifeanyi Okowa of the PDP to win the governorship elections.
He urged the people of Delta Central and Urhobo Nation in general to support the APC so as to actualise the Urhobo dream of electing him (Emerhor) as the next governor of Delta State come February 28.
He warned that should Urhobos fail to dislodge the Ogboru-Omene political scheming, Urhobo Nation will be marginalized politically for another eight years, noting that the PDP government which deliberately neglected the Urhobo Nation and Delta Central in the development, government appointments both at the state and federal levels is the same party the Chief Omene and Great Ogboru have aligned with to deprive Urhobos the opportunity of producing the next governor.
Emerhor said the APC is the only party that has the winning structure in Delta State with the capacity to defeat the PDP in the forth coming general elections, adding that the Labour Party has no Presidential candidate with a weak structure that cannot survive the test of time in this year’s general elections.
