The immediate past Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Michael Tidi, has urged leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area to actively promote the achievements of Sheriff Oborevwori at the grassroots.
Tidi made the call while congratulating Richard Pessu on the inauguration of the Warri South Local Government Executive Committee and the twelve Ward Executive Committees of the party.
The inauguration ceremony, held in Warri South Local Government Area, has been described by party stakeholders as a significant step toward strengthening the party’s grassroots structure.
In a statement, Tidi described the inauguration as a milestone for the APC in Warri South, expressing confidence that the newly inaugurated executives would foster unity and strengthen the party’s base in the local government area.
“The inauguration of these executives reflects the APC’s dedication to participatory leadership. I am confident that under Chairman Pessu, the party will grow stronger, more cohesive, and increasingly responsive to the needs of our people,” Tidi said.
He also stressed the need for party leaders and members to actively publicise the achievements of Governor Oborevwori’s administration across communities in order to build public confidence and consolidate support ahead of the 2027 Nigerian general elections.
According to him, promoting the successes of the state government will help mobilise greater support and secure substantial votes for APC candidates during the polls.
The event reportedly attracted several party leaders and government officials, including the Warri South Council Chairman, Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, the Vice Chairman, Kingsley Edafiadjebre, and the Secretary to the Council, Ewoghanran Nunu.
The development followed the earlier inauguration of Pessu at the APC State Secretariat in Asaba, where he was sworn in alongside the State Party Secretary.
