Hon. Kukune Leads Project Orange Delta in Support of Global Anti-Violence Campaign

Delta State has proudly joined the global “Orange the World” initiative as the state commences the 16 Days Advocacy Against Gender-Based Violence, running from 25th November to 10th December, 2025.

This international campaign will run from 25th November to 10th December 2025 which focuses on ending violence against women, girls and promoting a society where every female can live safely, confidently, and free from fear.

Under the visionary leadership of the Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, the state continues to take bold steps to protect the rights of women and girls.

The State Governor administration’s ongoing support for gender empowerment reflects a deep commitment to the wellbeing and progress of all Deltans.

Special recognition goes to Hon. Tina Toritseemode Kukune, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Development, for championing this year’s Project Orange Delta.

In her usual proactive manner, Kukune took the campaign directly to Main Market and Okere Market in Warri South Local Government Area of the state, engaging traders, sensitizing women, and spreading the message of safety, respect, and zero tolerance for gender-based violence.

According to her, “As this year’s advocacy begins, let us all stand together and raise our voices to end the violence against women, and girls. It is a duty we must all uphold. Delta State is united, and let’s Orange the World”.

The traders and market women commended the organizers of this life-changing campaign for their effort, planning, and unwavering commitment. Their work continues to create safe spaces, strengthen advocacy, and encourage collective responsibility in tackling gender-based violence.
