Deltans has been enjoined to continue to celebrate their rich cultural heritage and diversity in bid to remain more united going forward.
This call was made by Rt Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA) in his goodwill message to the people as Delta State marks 34th anniversary of its creation in 1991, he said that much has been achieved in the last 34 years but there are still much to be done to attain the goals of the founding fathers of the State.
In the statement made available to Daily Independent by Nkem Nwaeke, Chief Press Secretary(CPS) to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Guwor pledged that the Delta State House of Assembly under his watch, would remain committed to serving Deltans.
Rt. Hon. Guwor who represents Warri South West State Constituency and National Treasurer, Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria urged the people to help ensure that the achieved milestone marks continued progress and prosperity in the state.
The Speaker extends warm felicitations to all Deltans, both within and outside the state, describing the 34th anniversary as a celebration of resilience, determination, and progress in the state.
According to Rt. Hon. Guwor, “to the noble sons and daughters of Delta State, I rejoice with you on this momentous occasion of our state’s 34th anniversary. As we mark this milestone, let us together reflect on our journey so far, acknowledging the strides we have made and the challenges we have overcome.
“To me, I believe that we have made significant progress in various sectors, and I am proud of the collective efforts of our people. Kudos to the past administrations for their leadership and efforts to the unity and development of the state.
“We all need to sustain this collective spirit and resolve to remain committed to our shared vision of building a prosperous, peaceful, and progressive state. Let us continue to work together, leveraging our diversity and strengths to drive development and growth.
“The present administration in the state led by our focused, vibrant, resourceful and visionary administrator, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, is not relenting in his efforts to protect lives and property in the state as well as give more infrastructural revolution.
“I wish the good people of Delta State happiness, prosperity, and peace as we celebrate this 34th anniversary. May God bless our state and guide us towards a brighter future”, Guwor added.
