AHEAD of the October 25, 2014 Delta State Local polls, a chairmanship aspirant for Okpe Local Government Area, Chief, J.J. Scott has promised to key into the three point agenda of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan if elected as Chairman of the Council.

Speaking today to our Correspondent, Chief Scott said he was in the chairmanship race to bring the needed development to his people.

The Warri-based businessman turned politician stated that the three point agenda of Governor Uduaghan was working and promised to adopt it if elected as the next Chairman of Okpe Local Government Area.

Chief Scott, a former PDP Chairman in Okpe Local Government Area, assured his people that he would tame youth restiveness through the creation of job opportunities if elected.

While saying his chances of picking the PDP ticket in August 9, 2014 to contest the election were bright, Chief Scott said poverty was the major cause of youth restiveness and promised to address it if elected by his people.

He said; “As a successful businessman, I have helped a lot of our people by giving them employment and I will do more for them if am voted into power in the forth coming council polls. I will give adequate attention to women and youths in the locality by empowering them. Our people have suffered enough hence I am out to alleviate their plight.”

He also promised to cater for the aged and widows, saying that, “my people know what I can do. I am not out to make empty promises; they should see me as somebody on a divine mission to bail them out of poverty. I will carry everybody along if elected as the next chairman of Okpe local government area. Our people need not suffer.”

“I will create the enabling environment in Okpe as the council chairman and when there is peace, investors will not be scared to come and invest in the area. I am out to make a change in Okpe Local Government Area,” the Chairmanship aspirant stated.

Chief Scott implored the people not to be carried away by the rumour that a certain aspirant had been adopted.

“It is a big lie that some people are spreading that some leaders have endorsed a particular aspirant; this is not true. We are all looking forward to a free and fair primaries comes August 9, 2014 and my chances of picking the PDP ticket and emerging the next chairman of Okpe local government area are very bright,” he said.
