OGIDI INAUGURATED AS CHAIRMAN PDP SOUTH-SOUTH CARETAKER COMMITTEE…Oborevwori Expresses Confidence in New Leadership, Tasks Committee on Party Unity

In a move to strengthen the leadership structure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-South region, Elder Emmanuel Ogidi has been officially inaugurated as the Chairman of the PDP South-South Zonal Caretaker Committee.
The inauguration ceremony took place on Thursday at the National Executive Committee (NEC) Hall of the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
The high-profile event witnessed the presence of a strong delegation from Delta State, led by the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, who represented the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. Accompanying him were several top government officials and party stalwarts, including the Delta State PDP Chairman, Chief Solomon Areyenka; House of Representatives members; Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, and Hon. Thomas Ereyitomi. Also in attendance were the Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Chief Ighoyota Amori; Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, Olorogun Emmanuel Aguarivwodo; as well as respected party leaders like Sen. James Manager, Mrs. Nkem Okwuofu, among others.
Speaking during his acceptance speech, Elder Ogidi expressed deep gratitude to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP for entrusting him and his team with the responsibility of leading the party in the zone. He reassured the party faithful of his commitment to carrying out the duties assigned to the committee diligently.
“On behalf of the committee, I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve. I want to thank the National Working Committee for their leadership. I assure you that we will discharge our duties to the best of our ability, always relying on your advice for the furtherance of the party and the glory of God.”
Delivering his goodwill message, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, commended Elder Ogidi’s leadership qualities and unwavering commitment to the party.
“Today’s inauguration is a testament to Elder Ogidi’s relentless dedication and commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the good people of Delta State. I have no doubt that under his leadership, the South-South zone of our great party will continue to flourish.”
The newly inaugurated committee members, who will oversee the party’s affairs in the zone until a new zonal executive is elected, include Elder Emmanuel Ogidi as Chairman, Chief Damiete Herbert-Miller as Secretary, Dr. Chris Uduoaka as Administrative Secretary, and members—Hon. Nicholas Ayuwa, Barr. Godwin Udonta, Mrs. Bekewei Ashanti, Dame Vivian Ahanmisi, and Idehen Ebomoyi.
With this strategic appointment, the PDP South-South Zonal Caretaker Committee is expected to play a pivotal role in ensuring the party’s stability, unity, and growth in the region as the political landscape continues to evolve.
