Christians have been called upon to work assiduously to actualize their dreams with a view to live a fulfilled life.
This call was made by Archbishop Philip Orovwuje during the Xmas Carol and End of Year Dinner Party of Garden Of Life Assembly (GOLA), he said that it is improper and unwise for Christians to publicize their dreams while still working to actualize them.
Archbishop Orovwuje who buttressed his sermon with Matthew 1: 18 and 19 said, Jesus Christ was born by Virgin Mary who was betrothed to Joseph the Carpenter adding that the birth was laced with lot dreams that were not disclosed to or discussed with anyone until it materialized.
According to Archbishop Orovwuje, “when Mary, mother of Jesus was betrothed to Joseph, he,(Joseph) never had carnal knowledge of her before he was told his wife was pregnant and by faith, he believed and kept it secret.
” If not for the faith which Joseph had, he would not have only doubted God on his dreams but rejected the pregnancy and today, there would not have been any celebration of Jesus Christ as it were”.
Archbishop Orovwuje then charged Christians to be wise, be cautious and circumspect on who they disclose their dreams before they actualize them.
He added, “many of us kill our dreams before we work to actualize them by publicizing them. When you have not even commence work on your aspirations and dreams , you have already shared the news to friends, neighbours and others, thereby killing your dreams. Christians should be wise and act accordingly.”
The First Lesson taken from Genesis Chapter 3: 8 — 19 was read by Archbishop Orovwuje, the Second Lesson taken from Genesis Chapter 22: 15–18 was read by his wife, Bishop Elect, Mrs. E. S. Orovwuje.
The Third Lesson taken from Isaiah 9: 2-7 was read by Davis Abugu among others as these were alternated with Carols by Great Singer, Guest Minister, Restoration Light Choir among others.
High point was presentation of gifts items to most dedicated members of the Church and winners of the raffle draw which saw many people going home with electric gas cooker, brand new phone, bags of rice, electric pressing iron, standing fans among others.
