Christians have been called upon to take advantage of the potent weapon of praising God to eliminate powers of darkness as well as defeat enemies of progress.
This call was made by Archbishop Philip Orovwuje, Presiding Bishop and Founder, Garden of Life Assembly (GOLA) during the Church 2024 annual thanksgiving service with a theme: “Celebration of Praises”, he said that the potency of praising God cannot be over emphasized as it is a weapon to stir God to be more merciful and arouses Him to do the miraculous in the lives of His children.
Archbishop Orovwuje said that even human beings when praised, they do more not to talk of “our heavenly Father. As Christians, we should sing praises, pour adoration, encomium from our hearts on our God before placing our requests before Him and when you do this, you will experience God’s miraculous powers in your lives, He will cause confusion in the kingdom of darkness for your sake.”
In his sermon, Bishop Wilson Umukoro, guest preacher at the ceremony who took his preaching from the book of Psalms 47: 6 –7 said that singing praises to God arouses Him to do more wonderful things in the lives of Christians.
Bishop Umukoro said that for Christians to get more impact from God, they should God ceaselessly praise Him, adding, ” Christians should sing praises unto God to get more positive impact from Him. Praise God without ceasing to enable our Creator to continuously protect you and your family. Praise Him with commitment and understanding to make God do the unusual in your lives.
“No one praises or worship God without receiving blessings. God responds positively to our praises with showers of blessings. It is advisable to praise God before presenting your issues to Him. Melodious praises arouses God to meet you at the points of your needs.”
Bishop Umukoro Identifies three ways Christians can praise God effectively, he listed them to include eulogizing God with beautiful and special words, thanksgiving with dance, giving of substance and impacting lives of people around you and doing good to them, adding, “if you touch peoples lives positively, they will be happy and begin to return praises to God Almighty .”
