WE NEED THE LIKES OF US PRESIDENT TRUMP ACROSS ALL LEVELS OF THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT TO WIN SOME CERTAIN STATE & NATIONAL BATTLES

By Zik Gbemre

Never have we seen a political leader facing so much opposition from all angles, yet he is able to go against all odds, against the norm and still able to keep his head up high, regardless of what anyone thinks – like we see as demonstrated by US President Donald Trump. From having to deal with a US media, with the CNN at the front, that does not hide its opposing disposition to practically everything the US President does, to having to deal with a heated political atmosphere that is divided on racial lines, political views, religious extremism, global economic policies and what have you.

Yet, since he assumed the Office of the White House as US President, Trump has been able to achieve tremendous success in global trade deals which have improved the economy of his country. He has broken global diplomatic lines and protocols that have never been recorded in US history dealings with their perceived rivalries. He has turned existing situations in the US immigration laws to punch a hole on the possibility of the growth of terrorism. Even in the midst of the barrage of criticisms from the opposing Democrats and the US Media headed by CNN, he has been able to always put them in their place, and still take steps towards reconciling the growing division and differences within and amongst the American people.

All we can say is that President Trump is a good man who is fighting many battles to correct the so many ills of his country. Though, he has his faults and weaknesses like everyone else, but he knows how to set goals and achieve them in the interest of the American people and economy. His predecessor, former President Barack Obama, can be said to have destroyed the US morally in all ramifications, especially with the evident rise and promotion of the so-called LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender) movement. But Trump came along to correct some of these things, like the legalized same sex marriage, and enforcing immigration laws for the good of his country. Trump is clearly against same-sex marriage, and we wonder what is the crime in doing that? Same-sex marriage has no place in all the religions in the world. Are they angry because Trump is doing the Will of God or What?

Without a doubt, Trump is promoting and re-echoing the lost religious values that were almost eliminated by religious extremism. He is fighting terrorism as well on a global and internal scale. The US Congress had long passed a law recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital, but none of the past US Presidents was able to implement this, until President Trump came. Trump is bold to implement the recognition of Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel. So, why the hatred on him to have implemented what the US Congress had long passed as law.

Sadly, some Africans (including Nigerians) living in the US do not like him because of their personal interests, and obvious immigration policies that will not favour most of them. But the fact still remains that President Trump is simply projecting and protecting the overall interest of his country, as an elected political leader should have towards his citizenry. Yet, the US Media, especially the CNN (whose owner is a staunch Democrat), always want to paint Trump in a bad light before the world. Just like they have been doing recently with their reports on the thousands of people that are trooping towards the US on foot. Which many political analysts believe is being allegedly sponsored and all aimed to frustrate Trump’s administration. CNN does not even bother to ask in their country, how these people were gathered to be trekking down towards the US on foot? They are not asking what war or crisis that must have prompted these people to leave their country to start trekking thousands of miles with the hope of getting into the US? And we all know that if President Trump does not take steps to stop them, others will imitate them and the United States of America (US) will soon become jam-packed with illegal immigrants they do not really know anything about. Rather than these people to rise up against their political leaders for bad governance, they are blaming Trump for their problems, and they think that trekking to the US with their families will solve their problem. Would it not be better for these migrant caravans to use the strength of trekking thousands of miles, to rise up against their bad political leaders for inflicting hardship on them?

On the other hand, the Nigerians living there should come back home to build their country Nigeria, instead of taking refuge in the US and in the UK. In those days, Nigerians who schooled in UK/US came home immediately after their education because there were more opportunities then back home. But today, it is a different story. No one will build our country for us because if they develop our country for us, they will become irrelevant on global trade and economic power.

The bottom line is that President Trump has demonstrated himself, to be a patriotic American leader. We need the likes of Trump in Nigeria across all spheres of Government. Let us also realize that President Trump is a billionaire, but yet he just wants to straighten all the things that are going wrong in his country, and as expected, the bad people are against him. Regardless of what anyone thinks, we believe Donald Trump is God sent, and the bad people are not comfortable with him, hence they are fighting back. Trump is just trying to protect his country, so I really don’t see what the big deal is? We just need the likes of him here in Nigeria. But we should not mind those Nigerians living in the US who are hiding in another man’s land. Many of us here have the same like-minds to not want to live in other countries other than Nigeria, and that is because we love Nigeria as our only country, and regardless of what is happening and going wrong here, we will remain here to fix it, no matter how long it will take.
