IYC inaugurates National Executive Council members

After resolving the crisis within between both presidential and secretarial aspirants, the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has inaugurated members of the National Executive Council to pilot the affairs of the Ijaw youths.

The inauguration which is the 6th in the history of the IYC witnessed a lot of Ijaw personalities who came from far and near to celebrate with their sons.

Speaking during and after the inauguration at the Ijaw House, on the 2nd of March 2014, the Commissioner of Culture and Ijaw National Affairs, Hon. Felix Tuodolo, stated that a lot of dialogue was made for the inauguration ceremony to come to pass after the crisis broke up within the youths of the council.

He also said that the dialogue was not done by him alone that the Governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, and other respected Ijaw elders were also involved.

He expressed gratitude to those who contested for various posts for accepting peace and also to fight for the Ijaw course.

In his inaugural address, the President of the Ijaw Youth Council, Engr. Eradiri Udengs, noted that so many wounds were created during their campaign and election and apologized to the other aspirants.

He stated that the movement towards the reelection of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has already started by the inauguration.

He also said that he is going to run a participatory government where everyone would be carried along to contribute their quota towards the development of the Ijaw Nation.

Engr. Eradiri stated that IYC meetings will no longer be held in Yenagoa alone, but also at the local places where their fellow Ijaws dwell within and outside Bayelsa, like Ondo State etc, so that the government in other states will know that the IYC recognized their brothers in other places.

He lauded all those who have supported him and all who graced the ceremony; adding that they will also work with other non-Ijaw speaking tribes in the country like the Yorubas, Ibos,  kwerres, etc.
